It's A Velvet Revolution!

The Autumn/Winter collection arrives later in Jigsaw than any other fashion store, but always manages to quicken the pulse and send the spend, spend, spend impulse soaring. This season the colour palette is as gorgeous as ever, notably in fine knitwear, silk dresses and standout pieces, but it is the accessories - fabulous shoes, belts and bags - that don't just catch the eye, but lynch it!

Grazia are among several press testimonies which announce the covetability of the sumptuous Eva Sheepskin Boots. To that category, we would add the soft, knee-high, suede Woody Boots which come in ripe plum and soft wheat shades; the high-heeled, ankle-tie black Zephir boots and the classic Tassel Riding Boots.

The Guardian talks of the 'skirt-suit revival' on this season's catwalks and recommends Jigsaw's Boucle Cloque pencil skirt and jacket, available in one of autumn's key colours, purple. The Guardian Weekend section highlights the ‘Velvet Revolution' as velvet returns for all ages, and picks out the lovely Cotton Metal Velvet Marching Jacket in navy blue and Silk Velvet Bow Skirt.

Velvet dancing shoes in mid-blue, another of this season's key colours, are the sort of exquisite foot regalia you'd be happy with as a household ornament as much as a pair of shoes.

We all value Jigsaw for its ‘do-everything, go-everywhere' dresses. The designers have come up trumps again. The Silk Cornelli dress, an early arrival on the rails, is a modern classic described by The Independent as ‘beyond the folly of fashion'. Utterly delectable, too, is the Watercolour Print Tie Front Dress - which looks great with purple opaque tights and the pale Woody Boots - and the Gallia Floral Tie Print Dress. Dress them up, down or in with jacket, boyfriend cardigan or on trend belt.
