fussynation

We live in Fussynating times...

Fussy Nation - the fun, quirky, pop-culture fashion and gift boutique - is now open in Whiteleys on the first floor opposite HMV and GAP.

We were bursting with excitement at the prospect of its arrival under our roof. Now we've inspected its eclectic range of fashion and life-style products, we're truly overjoyed. It's a terrific addition to what's already on offer in Whiteleys.

Just walking in is a pleasure. Two units have been made into one spacious store of 1600 square feet and stripped back to reveal an exposed ceiling five metres in height.

A pale colourwash creates a lovely, airy, bright retail area furnished with French Renaissance ornate mirrors, armoires, a mirrored console table (complete with a cute little bust of Napoleon), chandeliers above the fitting rooms, and huge bespoke 'frames'. French lounge music seduces you. Quirky details - such as 14 birch tree trunks and an 'open' kennel with two French poodles - amuse!

What does Fussy Nation sell? Ladies fashion is fantastically appealing. We love the best-selling Rene Derhy rabbit-fur cape - or Yalta Fourrure, to give it its product name - in luxurious brown or black.

Amplified-vintage-rockThe Darling range is in on-trend grey, with vintage appeal. Mimosa hand-painted silk shifts are gorgeous as are all the hand picked accessories - from Suzy Smith and Mischa Barton bags to fringed suede and leather gloves and an eclectic selection of shoes.

Boutique menswear includes labels like Jakes, Religion and Fila Vintage - the gear made famous by Bjorn Borg. For kids there are Amplified Vintage Rock T-shirts.

Homeware includes pretty bedroom adornments - mirrors, boxes, photo frames; sumptuously packaged Ortigia scented candles and bath products; Catseye make-up bag; novelty gifts such as Parent-Child contracts, Get-the-Hint wish-list tags, coffee-table books and lounge music CDs. Every item has an appealing sense of individuality. Enjoy exploring!
