Naughty but nice.

Boudoir Elegance is a dominant theme in Dune's Autumn collection for ladies. The use of tantalising fabrics and influences from 1950s pin-ups give a hint of naughtiness to this contemporary burlesque story. Decadent velvet, vintage lace and sumptuous satin all feature in a colour palette of blush pink, dove grey, oyster nudes, mink and classic black. Styles are mischievously low cut; heels are perilously high.

Details such as corsetry look ladylike as well as sexy. Cheeky peep toes, shoe boots and courts are adorned with lavish ribbons, delicate corsages, pretty bows and ruffles to give a flirtatious feel.

Fierce Fashion is one of AW09's catwalk trends, beautifully mirrored in Dune's Fantasy Warrior collection. This is a medieval-inspired story, complete with mechanical details such as burnished metal plating, solid studs, zips and chainmail.

Knee-high boots, super platforms, ankle boots and sharp pointed courts come in molten metallic shades of pewter, bronze, gunmetal and anthracite, with flashes of slick black patent. The look is embellished with crumpled leathers and chunky buckles to capture the look of medieval armoury.

For gentler souls, Folk Luxe is a range which mixes materials and throws together colour clashes for a dressed-up gypsy-chic look.

 

Texture is key here: sheepskin, metallic brocade, reptile skins and suede are wrought to create eclectic looks reminiscent of quirky festival fashion. Flat knee-high boots, chunky round-toe platforms and lace-up heeled brogues are boho-inspired, a look which is furthered with the use of embroidery, fringing and tassel details.

Graphic paisley prints, patchwork and dip dye patents evoke images from the hippie 1970s, while colour blocking in neutral tones of burnt orange, tan and brown, with hints of burgundy, project an earthy appeal.
