We're Working Hard. Very Hard!You will notice certain sections of Whiteleys, W2, are currently ‘curtained off'. Like all self-respecting personalities, we know the value of a good makeover. Behind the screens we are giving ourselves a brighter, cleaner, modern look while restoring our beautiful Grade II listed building in keeping with its intrinsic architectural glory. A thorough makeover provides a tremendous morale boost. By the end of spring 2008, we'll be out of our changing cubicle to give you a twirl. You will be truly pleased to encounter the newly refurbished Whiteleys! Phase One was completed on time by the end of November 2007 and included;
And flushed with these successes, we're now on a roll...the loos in the second floor have been completely refurbished from top to...err...bottom and now include baby-changing facilities in both the female and male areas. Phase Two (completion in June 2008) will see the:
We'll upload some images shortly so you can see how the new Whiteleys London W2 styling will enhance the building and create a sophisticated buzz befitting our new restaurant and entertainment offers. All Star Lanes, the boutique American-style bowling and dining venue, opened last Autumn to great reviews for its cocktail menu and lanes of luxury bowling. This included a 10-page spread in Hello! with Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Jade Jagger, Jemima Khan and their fashionable crowd. Just in time for Christmas, Rowley Leigh (formerly owner and Michelin-starred chef of Kensington Place) opened Le Café Anglais, serving modern British food in stunning surroundings and with a colossal rotisserie at the centre of an open kitchen. To say that the restaurant has opened to spectacular reviews is something of an under-statement...it was awarded "Restaurant Of The Year" by Fay Maschler, no less, in The London Evening Standard. By summer 2008, visionary restaurateur Alan Yau will have brought his trademark chic eating philosophy to Whiteleys with Cha Cha Moon and Busaba Eathai. And, in June 2008 Food Inc. opens, a fabulous but practical shopping emporium conceived by Dominic Ford (of Harvey Nichols 5th Floor fame) that will celebrate the speciality greengrocer, butcher, fishmonger, patisserie, fromagerie, and much more.
