When it comes to summer, we're like kids on the long journey out of a London winter, "Dahd-dee, are we nearly there yet?". Well, boys and girls, not long to go now - soon we'll have the sun in our hearts and be licking gelato off the heel of our hands. Yum, yum.

Food Inc. Not long to go now...

And, while we're on the subject of long journeys and filling our tums, we're delighted to announce that the much anticipated opening of Dominic Ford's lavish new food retail concept is now but a few short weeks away. The feathers in Dominic's celebrated cap include the 5th Floor at Harvey Nix, The Oxo Tower and the deliciously swish La Rinascente in Milan.

Food Inc. will dominate what was once the common area of our ground floor with London's finest meats, fish & seafood, grocery, delicatessen, bakery, cheese, wines, and, of course, an artisan ice-creamerie. We can hardly contain ourselves and we promise to post here all the juicy gen once we get it.

Fashion News...

Oasis, under the guidance of new Creative Director Nadia Jones, have created a modern take on this spirited femininity. ‘The Dress' returns as a wardrobe staple, with full-skirted couture shapes and hippy chicky maxi dresses. They have some lovely prints and the usual Oasis-brand quirky accent on accessories. Check out their pages for fun ideas.

They've decided it's ‘sheer' fun at Karen Millen. Get it? Their key piece is a transparent organza blouse that is a gorgeous way to add a flighty touch either to a pencil skirt or to sexy high-waisted jeans. It comes either in a monochrome version with pretty broderie anglaise detailing or in an exuberant coral - and loads of alpha females are walking out with both! We love the way organza and chiffon are mixed up here in a relaxed jumble of colour and texture to adorn cardigans and skirts. A fringed stone suede jacket is certain to become a cult look among Karen Millen's loyal following. Check out their pages for weekend combinations and safari chic.

At Gap the mood is light and soft, with unstructured pinafores, tiered prairie dresses and embroidered blouses. Trouser shapes are loose. Their ‘pyjama' trend is not for everyone, but the Dickensian jackets (double-backed to appear slightly padded) could become that pet item you live in all season. For the ideal spring look, Gap's advisors - who always come up with great ideas you wouldn't think of yourself - suggest we layer up whites, add some embroidery to add girlish charm and balance volume with a cropped swingy jacket.

With their loose-fit shirt dresses, gypsy tops and trim puff-sleeved blouses, French Connection is a treasure-trove of romantic pieces. But they've become the first stop on the high street for graphic prints and show-stopping tunics... which takes us to this season's other great theme...Ibiza

French Connection do this so well: dresses and laidback tunics in abstract graphics and futuristic holographics as well as comfortable loose-fit cotton bubble dresses. Worn over jeans (indigo or white or jewel coloured) or over a bikini on the beach or by themselves with high heels, this is the most versatile of dressing. Energy and fun seem to bounce from the rails!

If you want to go for the Balearic Paradise look wholesale, Dune have shoes and accessories in every colour under the sun: canary yellow, shiny spearmint, juicy tangerine, violet and fuchsia. Textures include printed satins, lustred cork, raffia and metallic snake touches which create an opulent feel of early Ibiza.  They also have a more subtle range of delicate shades in dusty rose and pale ivory to finish off a flirty, romantic outfit.

Finally, check out Accessorize mix'n'match bikini sets in graphic 70s hippy and retro prints. Think Jade Jagger and exude sun-drenched rockgirl glamour with flip flops, belts and bags with added embellishment and jewel details. Now we just need the weather.
