Just when we thought is was safe to go back in the Bikini...Mmmmm. The opening of FOOD INC at Whiteleys is a dangerously welcome assault on the senses. It is easy to be overcome by pure greed… the sight of a well-stocked wet fish counter, the artist’s canvas of colours in fresh fruit and vegetables, the pleasing array of fresh-iced cupcakes, the satisfying slice through a truckle cheddar, the delicious clink of well-chosen wine, the mouth-watering aromas from the Traiteur counter, the tantalising names of as yet untasted foodie delights from around the world. All praise the higher Being, (in this case, Pat MacDonald), that Food Inc's summer scrumptiousness is as easy on the hips as it is on the tastebuds. Once you’ve tasted the Butternut squash and rosemary tart, the Balsamic, fig and apple chutney, the Prosciutto San Daniele and the Rustica Olives, you’ll know there is only one way to savour this emporium of treats. You simply have to eat your way through the list! Let’s start with the In-House Made Deli dishes. Using ingredients from the food market, Head Chef, Jason Lynas will be creating a menu which is pure pleasure to read.
