For the guys, it's a celebration of comfort tailoring, denim and crazy colours. This season sees the introduction of a new trouser shape for men - a slimline style cropped to the ankle. Here are some other pointers:

- Minimise prints, checks and florals.

- View ultramarine jeans as a high-fashion alternative to indigo denim.
It'll be all white on the night...that is the message from Gap Women's style advisors. Take time to explore the rails and counters for yourself, but here are the top tips:
- Layer up whites - tonal hues keep the look interesting, a hint of blush lends feminine flair.
- Pretty embroidery adds girlish charm to loose silhouettes
- Balance volume. A cropped swingy jacket is the ideal spring cover-up.
- A neckerchief or scarf helps bring layered looks together
- A sturdy platform shoe lifts and gives status to voluminous shapes
- Batik prints, stripes and checks are the prints to note
- Khaki is the new neutral. Liven with jolts of coral and ultramarine
- Push coat sleeves up and pull drawstring waists in
- Double up on lightweight coats.
Our new skinny wash jeans are the big attraction. The shape is classic skinny jean but in 8 colour washes ranging from white to soft grey, dark grey, pale pink, through to dark indigo. It's a completely new cut, in very soft denim. They fit like a glove.
